CSAB Takes Center Stage at ASEAN Food, Tourism and Culinary Innovation Festival

CSAB proudly demonstrated its commitment to ASEAN cultural appreciation and regional solidarity during the NAM-EATS: Flavors of Southeast Asia Festival, held at the University of St. La Salle on August 3–4, 2026, by fielding the largest student delegation clad in traditional ASEAN attire.

The colorful display of traditional Southeast Asian costumes brought vibrancy and cultural richness to the festival, celebrating the region’s diversity and shared heritage. Through the enthusiastic participation of its students, CSAB transformed the event into a meaningful expression of intercultural understanding, highlighting the beauty of ASEAN traditions while promoting unity, friendship, and regional cooperation.

The delegation, composed of students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management programs, proudly represented the customs, identity, and hospitality of the Philippines and Southeast Asia, reflecting CSAB’s continuing efforts to cultivate globally minded graduates with a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.

Accompanying the delegation were Mr. Louie Pagdato, MBA, CMMS, Associate Dean of the College of Accountancy, Business Education and Computer Studies (CABECS); Ms. Mary Grace Gonzales, MITHM, Program Head for BS Tourism Management; Mr. Reymark Barbas, MSHM, Program Head for BS Hospitality Management; together with the faculty members whose guidance and support contributed to the success of the activity.

The festival was also graced by Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office – Negros Island Region, together with the region’s Education Supervisors, underscoring CHED’s continuing support for initiatives that promote internationalization, cultural exchange, and innovative learning experiences in higher education.
