ABSTRACT:
This study focuses on an item analysis of the final examination questions of the general education subjects of CSA-B in the first semester of S.Y 2007-2008. It takes to determine the effectiveness of these questions as shown in the percentage of items retained, revised and discarded utilizing the upper and the lower 27% of the examination results. Results of the study show that in subjects under Languages, items that need revision are greater than those that are to be retained. This is also observed in PEDU 101 and 103 NSci 101 and CSci 101. Percentage of items to be retained in Social Sciences is significantly higher than those that need revision. This is also observed in Math 101 and CSci 101.
