CSAB Conducts Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET)

The Research and Publications Office, in coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Engagement, successfully conducted the Basic Research Ethics Training (BRET) on April 21-22, 2026, at Circle Inn Hotel.

The two-day training was facilitated by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and featured esteemed resource speakers Prof. Lerma L. Paris and Dr. Michelle V. Lemoncito.

The program brought together selected institution personnel who are expected to play vital roles in the ethical review of research protocols. Through a series of lectures, discussions, and practical activities, participants were equipped with essential knowledge and skills to conduct ethical and effective research review processes.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the core principles of research ethics, promote research integrity, and reinforce their commitment to the responsible conduct of research.

By enhancing institutional capacity in research ethics, CSAB continues to uphold high standards of scholarly excellence and ensure the protection of research participants and communities involved in research endeavors.
