36 Future Psychologists Mark Milestones at CSAB’s 12th Psychology Pinning Ceremony

Thirty-six (36) graduating Bachelor of Science in Psychology students of Colegio San Agustin–Bacolod (CSAB) were formally pinned during the 12th Psychology Pinning Ceremony, marking their transition from classroom learning to supervised practicum in the University’s partner institutions.

The ceremony began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Raymundo Edsel T. Alcayaga, OSA, Regent of the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education (CLASE), who encouraged the students to remain rooted in their faith and to embody the Augustinian values of Truth, Unity, and Love as they begin serving individuals and communities through their discipline.

In his short inspirational message, Dr. Randdie P. Cuelo, Vice President for Academic Affairs, encouraged the future psychology practitioners to place kindness, compassion, and empathy at the heart of their profession. Drawing from Aesop’s fable The Lion and the Mouse, he reminded the students that no act of kindness toward individuals experiencing mental, emotional, or relational struggles is ever put to waste, calling them to become professionals who serve with competence, integrity, and genuine care for others.

The ceremony was spearheaded by the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education (CLASE) under the leadership of Dr. Jan-Dolly Grace Deita, Dean of the College, together with Dr. Ana Roberta Guanco, Program Head of the BS Psychology Program, and the program’s faculty mentors, Ms. Ma. Angeline Portillo, RPm, CHRA, and Ms. Novie Dolor, RPm.

Joining the student-interns in celebrating this meaningful milestone were their parents, guardians, and benefactors, whose unwavering support continues to inspire the students as they embark on the next phase of their professional formation.
