ABSTRACT:
The study explores the material, The Stranger by Albert Camus, in order to identify whether there are hidden dualisms, inner contradictions or repressed meanings in the text. This qualitative research makes use of deconstruction and text analysis to discover pervasive themes found in the material. In deconstructing the material, pervasive themes and hidden dualisms are recorded, tallied, analyzed and resituated. Frequencies are identified. The findings of the study reveal that the material, The Stranger by Albert Camus, is focused on two dominant themes: absurdity of life and absurdity of death. Life and Death will never absurd when humans know that life is lived with a divine purpose and death is a new beginning, an eternal communion with God.
