Vision
The Learning Resource Center is an integral part of CSA-B that collaborates in developing globally competitive and holistic individuals by providing quality learning resources in all formats anchored on the Augustinian values for listening and learning.
Mission
The Learning Resource Center is committed to support the curricula of the school by providing quality learning resources and services that help develop the total person who appreciates and takes pride in the richness of Filipino heritage in a just and humane society.
Objectives
- Provide latest and most complete books and other reading materials in line with the curricular courses and programs offered by the college.
2. Provide students, faculty, staff, researchers and administrators a conducive place for research and learning.
3. Organize and manage library resources for easy retrieval and dissemination of information.
4. Appreciates Filipino culture and tradition through the Filipiniana and Negrosiana collections.
5. Uphold the Augustinian values and spirituality through the works of St. Augustine and other Augustinians.
6. Make online resources available to clients through the Electronic Resources Section and WiFi connection.
7. Provide up-to-date electronic and non-print reference materials.
8. Render services which relate to the use and availability of resources.
9. Encourage teachers, staff and students with the Library Committee members to involve in the selection and integration of materials in line of the curriculum.
BOOK BORROWING AND RETURNING SERVICE – REQUEST-PICK-DROP
All bonafide students of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod can borrow books through online or onsite transactions. For online borrowing – a borrower will inform the Librarian ahead of time of the title of the book he/she wishes to borrow through our FB page, chat, text or email. Then, the librarian will inform the borrower that the book is now ready for pick up at the main entrance of the school or at the library. To return the books, the borrower may drop the books at the book drop box located at the main entrance of the school or may return the book directly to the library.
For students below 18 years old, a parent/guardian or any representative is requested to pick up and return the books. Please bring any identification as proof that you are an authorized representative of the borrower.
Students are allowed to borrow a maximum of 5 books at a time. The loan period is for 2 weeks and renewable for another 2 weeks.
HOW TO ACCESS THE LRC BOOK COLLECTION, E-JOURNALS AND EBOOKS
Students can choose the books they want to borrow by using our Online Public Access Catalog or OPAC. They can log on to opac.csab.edu.ph. In the search box of the OPAC type the title or the author of the book, they wish to borrow. After choosing the book, they can message the Library and the staff will prepare the book for pick up.
The library has a collection of eBooks and subscriptions to e-journals for learning and research needs. These materials can be accessed through our school website at csab.edu.ph. To access these materials a student needs a user ID and a password. The student can message the librarian if he/she wants to access these materials.
DOCUMENT DELIVER SERVICE
This service processes requests of library patrons for articles and book chapters and other information that are available in the library. These documents will be scanned, downloaded and will be sent through messenger or email.
