CSA-B Nursing Program Eyes Global Collaboration in Nursing Education

The Nursing Program of the College of Health and Allied Professions at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, long recognized with Level 3 accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU), has embarked on an international benchmarking activity which marks a significant milestone as the program continues to strive for excellence.

The delegation, led by Dean Dr. Reyma M. Magbanua, visited Mahidol University in Thailand, renowned for its excellence in Medical and Allied Health Professions. Dr. Magbanua (6th from left) was accompanied by a distinguished team of CSA-B’s Nursing educators including Dr. Jo Ann Flores, Dean of the Nursing Program; Renato Lacanilao, Simulation Laboratory Coordinator; Dr. Helen Salgado, Clinical and Community Health Nursing Coordinator; and level chairpersons and skills laboratory coordinators Rose Marla Fernando, Maria Fe Tabujara, Mary Lou Abraham, and Jonnafe Gayatin.

During the visit, the team met with Dr. Sarah Jane Racal-Tam (center in the photo), a proud alumna of CSA-B’s BSN Class of 2007, who earned her doctorate in Nursing at Mahidol University. The meeting was a crucial step in establishing collaborative ties with one of Asia’s top universities in the field of nursing education.

The said benchmarking activity marks the start of a promising journey toward building international connections and further elevating the quality of nursing education at CSA-B. By partnering with prestigious institutions across Asia and beyond, CSA-B aims to maintain its status as one of the leading institutions in nursing education in the region, offering its students unparalleled learning opportunities.
