CSAB-CABECS Students Triumph at the 2nd WV Business Students Summit

The 2nd Western Visayas Business Student Summit (WVBSS) gathered the region’s brightest young innovators at the University of San Agustin (USA) on March 17. Organized by the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) in collaboration with the USA Business Management Association of the Philippines, the event served as a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial and business skills.

Student delegates from Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod (CSAB), Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), University of Antique (UA), and host institution USA competed in various business-related categories. Among them, CSAB’s Business Education, Accounting and IT students emerged victorious, securing top awards in multiple categories.

In the Service Category, the CSAB team was crowned Champion and also won Best in Business Plan Presentation and Best in Paper. The winning presenters were Gillyn Alvaro, Edsan Asher Calinao, Arabella Cortez, Korina Miasis, and Godfrey Seva. Their entry was strengthened by contributors, with George Alfred Padasas serving as the main contributor, alongside team members Samantha Anas, Thalia Esther Bermeo, Julia Lyn Bermudez, Ryzel Marie Busime, Mark Louie Consolacion, Quetzel Dela Torre, Mary Jane Genise, Elisa Kate Lantacon, Shaina Sanchez, and Ileana Superficial.

In the IT Category, the CSAB team secured 2nd Runner-Up, represented by Desiree Bastian, Althea Von Barraca, Ashein Gail Guarino, and Xian Longno. Meanwhile, in the Food and Non-Food Categories, CSAB’s entries earned qualifier status, represented by Lyann Bayoneta, Riezel Joy Belandres, Maybelen Britania, Johanna Castidad, Khaylin Clada, Kristine Beth Diaz, Marie Shella Ann Patigas, and Lance Nicole Villasis for the Food Category, and Julia Lyn Bermudez, Mary Francine Javiero, Jairra Pearl Moreno, and Stephen Ahron S. Señoron for the Non-Food Category.

Guiding the team to success are Mr. Louie Pagdato, Associate Dean of the College, and Fr. Manuel Vergara, OSA, Dean of the College.

With their outstanding performance, these student-representatives have earned an invitation to compete in Manila, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on a national platform and bring further pride to the institution.
