The Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod (CSA-B) Senior High School (SHS) Taekwondo jins showcased their skills and delivered outstanding performances at the 2024 Visayas Taekwondo Championships held at Bacolod City College on October 26-27, 2024. The event brought together top competitors from the Negros Island Region, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas.
Joshua Emmanuel Deita, who recently won gold at the 2024 Palarong Pambansa, clinched another gold medal in the Kyorugi Senior Men Advance 2 category, Bantam Division. In the Poomsae event, Gian Tronco secured a bronze in the Junior Men Black Belt category and teamed up to win gold in the Junior Pair category, while Rhianne Sophia David earned a silver in the Junior Women Brown Belt category.
The team’s success was guided by their dedicated coach, Crystal Pauline Reyes Sabido, a proud CSA-B alumna who brought honor to the institution through her achievements in taekwondo. Her coaching approach incorporated the five tenets of taekwondo—courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit—harmonized with the Augustinian core values of Caritas (love), Unitas (unity), and Veritas (truth). This holistic approach fostered not only athletic excellence but also character development in her athletes.
CONGRATULATIONS and SOAR HIGH AUGUSTINIAN TAEKWONDO TEAM!
