In a remarkable achievement that continues to solidify its standing in academic excellence, CSA-B secured 2nd place at the 19th Provincial Wildlife Quiz Bowl held on November 14, 2024. The event, which took place at the CHMSU Gymnasium, saw the participation of 77 schools across Negros Occidental.
Organized by the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) in collaboration with the Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc., the quiz bowl is a highlight of the 20th Wildlife Month Celebration of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental to promote biodiversity conservation by enhancing information dissemination, raising awareness in educational institutions, and fostering inter-school networking.
Representing CSA-B were Grade 12 STEM students Adrian Sean M. Torres and Johann Francis D. Cuachon, under the expert guidance of their trainer, Mr. Plaridel D. Tison Jr., and teacher-facilitator, Ms. Deo Anne V. Espinosa. The duo showcased their comprehensive knowledge of biodiversity, earning them a spot among the top performers in the province.
CSA-B has a proud history of success in the competition, consistently ranking among the top schools and previously representing Negros Occidental on the national stage. This year marks the fifth time CSA-B will represent the province, having placed in the top three in four out of five national-level appearances.
CSA-B will advance to the national competition, set to be held on November 28-29, 2024, at the Philippine Science High School – Caraga Region Campus. Congratulations and thank you for bringing pride and honor to CSA-B, Adrian and Johann! Our prayers and well-wishes for you both as you prepare for the national level! Soar higher, Augustinians!
