On November 25, 2023, the Non-Teaching Personnel (NTP) of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod (CSA-B) dedicated their time and effort to conduct a community outreach program aimed at supporting the residents of the Social Development Center (SDC). This initiative was part of the institution’s commitment to extending its benevolent activities beyond the confines of the academic environment, reaching out to the wider community in meaningful ways.
The program included games, storytelling, hygiene kits distribution, snacks, and free interactions between the residents and the volunteer nappies. Everyone was finally blessed with a prayer from Rev. James N. Dosado, OSA.
SDC is a government facility that offers residential, educational, and vocational training facilities, as well as a complete path to recovery for children who are at risk or in conflict with the law. It also welcomes children who have been sent from other cities or municipalities.
The NTPs who kindly lent their time for the activity, the houseparents, and the SDC Head, Ms. Jennysan Hijastro, have all helped to support the recognition of the rights of these children to be children.
