CASE In-Service Trainings: Enhancing Educational Quality through Curriculum Mapping and Curriculum Review

In-service trainings for the faculty of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, spearheaded by College Dean Dr. Jan-Dolly Grace L. Deita, are of paramount importance for continuous professional growth and educational excellence. The involvement of key figures such as the Regent and Theology Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Raymundo Edsel T. Alcayaga, OSA, Deans of Programs Dr. Lanie C. Campillanos and Dr. Ana Roberta C. Guanco, and Subject Area Coordinator Mr. Angelo J. Hechanova, underscores the commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

Day 1 of the seminar-workshop focused on “Enhancing Educational Excellence through Curriculum Mapping and OBE Syllabus Updates.” Dr. Danebeth G. Narzoles, CHEDRO6 Education Supervisor, led this session at the mini AVR. Her expertise provided faculty members with invaluable insights into aligning curricula with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles. This alignment ensures that the educational outcomes are effectively achieved, preparing students for future challenges and opportunities. Dr. Narzoles provided valuable insights into modern curriculum development strategies, enabling faculty members to enhance their teaching methodologies and better serve their students’ needs.

Day 2 continued with the theme “Empowering Education through Industry Collaboration: A Curriculum Review.” Dr. Randdie P. Cuelo, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, led this session at the school’s auditorium. The focus was on reviewing the curriculum in collaboration with stakeholders and partner industries. This approach ensures that the educational programs remain relevant and responsive to industry demands, ultimately preparing students for successful careers. Dr. Cuelo’s expertise and guidance helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, fostering a collaborative environment that benefits both the institution and its students.

These in-service trainings are essential for fostering an environment of continuous improvement and adaptation. They ensure that faculty members are equipped with the latest pedagogical strategies and industry insights, ultimately contributing to the institution’s vision-mission of providing high-quality education.
